Verse keeps all your work data on your computer. This is your contact list (CRM), the artists you found, your message history, your accounts and your settings.
A backup is one ZIP file with all this data. You can use it to bring the data back on the same computer or on a new one.
Where the data is stored
| System | Folder |
|---|---|
| macOS | ~/Library/Application Support/Verse |
| Windows | %APPDATA%\Verse |
Do not touch the files in this folder while Verse is running. Do not copy or change them by hand. This can break your contact list. To move data, use a backup.
How to make a backup
- Stop any sending or artist search that is running.
- Open Settings → Data → Backup.
- Click Export Backup.
- Choose where to save the file. Its usual name is
Verse_Backup_<date>.zip. - Wait for "Export complete". It shows where the file is.
When to make a backup:
- before you update Verse;
- before you move to another computer;
- from time to time, if you have many contacts.
What is in a backup
| In the backup | Not in the backup |
|---|---|
| Instagram and Discord accounts with your login. The login is kept in cookies: small files that remember you are signed in | License key, plan and limit counters |
| Lists of people to message, places to find artists, messages, templates | WhatsApp Web login. Connect WhatsApp again with the QR code |
| Message history, which profiles were already checked, people you excluded | Profiles in Dolphin Anty, Multilogin and AdsPower. These apps give each account its own browser. They keep the profiles themselves |
| Artists you found and the shared contact list | macOS permissions for iMessage |
| iMessage, Discord and email mass messages, connected email accounts | |
| App settings and settings for control from Telegram |
How to bring data back from a backup
- Stop all sending.
- If this computer already has data, back it up first. Loading a backup replaces it fully.
- Open Settings → Data → Import Backup.
- Pick the ZIP file.
- You see "Import will overwrite current data and restart the app. Continue?" Confirm it.
- After the restart, check your accounts, contact list and templates.
Loading a backup does not add data to the old data. It replaces it. To add contacts to the ones you have, load an XLSX or CSV table into the contact list. See Shared CRM.
How to move to a new computer
- On the old computer, click Export Backup.
- Install Verse on the new computer. See Install Verse.
- Unlink the old computer in Dashboard → License.
- Turn on Verse on the new computer with the same key. See License, devices and moving.
- Click Import Backup and pick the file.
- Connect WhatsApp again with the QR code.
- Give macOS permissions for iMessage again.
- If you use Dolphin Anty, Multilogin or AdsPower, install and open them on the new computer.
How to download only your contacts
A backup moves all of Verse. Sometimes you only need a list of contacts. For example, for Google Sheets. Then use:
- Export in Leads: an XLSX file;
- Export XLSX / CSV in the shared contact list (CRM).
